Gurina Galina
Was born in 1961. She is native from Yaroslavl − city with thousand-year history which is famous with unique school of architecture, ancient monuments and picture galleries. All this influenced her personal aesthetic and tastes.
Seventeen-year-old Galina enrolled to decorative art branch of Yaroslavl art school. Professors of this school were pupils of well-known Russian painters like Yuon, Moor, Deyneka, Ermolayeva, Mylnikov. The second and main step −was the study at faculty of industrial design in one of the most prestigious art schools of the country − V. Muhina Leningrad art school (nowadays St. Petersburg State Art-Industrial Academy). Recently Galina got a class of drawing and computerized design at Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
The omnifarious knowledge acquired during studies determined in the following various possibilities of its application.
Gurina successfully worked in a number of Moscow theatres as set dresser, designer, master on a suit and properties, sculptor and author of playbill. Now as scene-painter she participates in shooting of historical movie at "Mosfilm".
Galina Gurina is the constant participant of painting exhibition. Her preferring genres are still life, city landscape and architectural monuments.
Photographic art occupies absolutely special place in Galina's oeuvre. This activity is very recent to her, no more have also three years, but Gurina's photographic works already make out interiors of establishments, they are exhibited at personal and collective exhibitions, stored in private collections.
"Your photos help better understand soul of Russia and of its people", such was reaction of visitors of her personal exhibition "Russian impressionism", which took place in Hanau (Germany) in December, 2007.
The most severe and unpartial critic of Galina's works is her husband − remarkable painter Michael Gurin. Michael is hereditary artist; his father and mother have left very appreciable trace in the fine arts of Soviet Union. And her son teenager in spite of the fact that he often was witness of her mum classes with young artists, probably, will probably interrupt family tradition: until now he showed himself as gifted violinist.
Galina constantly and actively works. So, the new meetings with her will come very soon.
