In 1961 being already the master of cinematography, Sergey Filippov by chance took an attempt to paint as, and he became painter at once and forever. Painting seriously captured him. Initially his idol and inspirator vas Van Gogh. He was captivated by his manner of the representation of emotional and spiritual conflict, depth and the force of feelings expressed by the artist.
